LIVING HISTORY
We are a - just for fun - group.
Our Group meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month between 10am and 12 noon.
Each month we have a fifteen minute session on a different theme based on headings we choose at an inaugural meeting. During this session we verbally remind ourselves of events that happened to us and the country generally. We have been known to get carried away in this session!! Next we spend some time writing (or recording, if preferred) on the chosen theme.
During 2008-2009 we wrote memories from birth until Twelve years of age.
At present we are working on the production of a small book based on these memories which should give a fascinating collection of memorabilia showing what life was like in many parts of England. It will cover the period 1920-1955. Members of U3A are welcome to join in at this stage (but must hurry if they want to contribute to the present book) and can write or record as much or as little as they wish on a particular theme. Contact Lucy for further details. |
